The Tuttnauer EZ9-Plus and EZ11-Plus Automatic Autoclaves are the latest edition to Tuttnauer's line, and once again the results are impressive.
Just like the original EZ9 and EZ10, the new EZ-Plus models offer exceptional sterilization at an affordable price, and they also boast the longest and best warranty in the industry (full 24 months, parts and labor). However, the new EZ-Plus models are superior when it comes to size, ease of use, and your access to cycle information.
The Tuttnauer EZ-Plus Autoclaves Are Bigger And Better Than Ever!
The Tuttnauer EZ-Plus autoclaves are now the largest mid-sized models on the market in terms of tray space. So that means more room for your instruments!
With the Tuttnauer EZ9-Plus you have a 9" x 19.8" chamber (room for two full-size and two half-size standard cassettes horizontally). It comes with three trays, each measuring 6.7" x 16.3".
With the Tuttnauer EZ11-Plus you have a 11" x 19.8" chamber (room for four full-size and four half-size standard cassettes). It comes with five trays, also measuring 6.7" x 16.3".
Tuttnauer's Most Advanced Autoclaves Are Now Even Easier To Use!
Gone are the days of the turn crank door! New EZ-Plus models come equipped with EZglide doors that making opening and closing effortless.
The controls and display have also been simplified, making choosing your cycle a breeze. And the bright new LCD screen allows you to read the display even from a distance.
Finally, Tuttnauer EZ-Plus sterilizers now have three ways to check your cycle information. Those include an optional printer, a USB thumb drive, and an Ethernet port that can be used with the optional software upgrade for graphical readouts over your local network.
How do these compare to the Midmark Ritter M9 & M11?
The Tuttnauer EZ-Plus autoclaves have several distinct differences from the Ritter Ultraclaves.
In addition to the new features like the USB listed above, these points are the most notable:
1.) The Tuttnauer EZ-Plus autoclaves provide more tray surface area (more room for your instruments) than the Ritter equivalents.
2.)Tuttnauer automatics have a HEPA-filtered closed-door drying cycle, meaning the door stays closed during drying. Ritters have an automatic door that pops open at the end of the cycle, allowing the steam and heat to escape (and the instruments to dry).
3.) Tuttnauers are designed with the instrument panel off to the side, where it is less likely to encounter steam. Whereas Ritters are designed with the panel above the door.
4.) Tuttnauers are covered for 24 months with a parts and labor warranty. Ritters come with a 12-month warranty.

Older Models?
The original Tuttnauer EZ9 and EZ10 Autoclaves are still being manufacturer by Tuttnauer, and there are no plans for them to be discontinued. They also come with the 2-year warranty, but are smaller and would be without the new Plus features.
The Tuttnauer EZ10K also remains the only 220-volt mid-sized automatic sterilizer available, so if you need faster cycles, that's the route to go.
But for the standard models it's only $100 more to go with a EZ-Plus model, so now is the perfect time to upgrade!
