UBIS 5000 bone densitometer

Reimbursement:

Ultrasound Densitometry finally has a CPT code for reimbursements! The code is 76977, covering "Ultrasound bone density measurement and interpretation, peripheral site(s), any method." And "Ultrasound bone density measurement and interpretation, peripheral site(s), any method." A selection of the published reimbursements for Medicare include $33.35 (Florida), $33.71 (Michigan), $38.89 (California), $46.83 (New York).

Leasing Option:

We are able to provide leasing options, including a standard lease with a $1 buy-out, across 24, 36, 48, or 60 months. On an average 36-month lease, you would have an investment of about $400 a month. On average Medicare reimbursements, that amounts to just over two and a half scans a week. Everything beyond 2.5 scans a week is profit. Not to mention the added revenue from new clients you can draw to your office through promoting bone density screenings.

Ubis 5000 Ultrasound Bone Densitometer

A powerful combination of imaging and statistical analysis gives your technologists the most complete picture possible of your patients' bone health, with unparalleled precision!

In traditional bone densitometers, the positioning of the region of interest (ROI) on the calcaneus varies with the size of the foot. Contrary to imageless ultrasound systems, the UBIS is able to stabilize the conditions of measurement by :

  • providing a digital image of the calcaneus
  • automatically selecting the ROI where the attenuation is the smallest
  • automatically controlling the temperature
  • taking into account the specific bone microarchitecture of each patient (BUB)
  • providing comprehensive diagnostic data

Patient- and diagnostic-sensitive design of the foot positioner allows comfortable and accurate placement every time -- ensuring unmatched consistency across examinations and over time.

A built-in water replacement system dries the footbath for every new patient and then automatically refills it with clean, temperature-controlled water.

Reliable Operation:

Prior to each examination, the UBIS performs an automatic self-diagnostic and quality control check, assisted by a high quality automatic internal referencing system. UBIS's software is 100% automated, from calibration to ROI selection to data processing.

Superior Statistical Reporting:

Running in a windows environment, the UBIS 5000 software reports :

The Examination:

Automatic creation of patient file
Built-in electronic phantom for automatic calibration and quality control procedure before each examination
Measurement of the calcaneus (heel) in transmit and reflection mode
Real time display of image during the scan to ensure proper data acquisition
BUA, BUB and SOS results with diagnosis data
