The Fully-Digital CTS-8800 Orthopedic Ultrasound
The CTS-8800 Ultrasound from SIUI, equipped with the linear 5 - 10 MHz probe (central frequency 7.5 MHz), is our premiere portable black-and-white ultrasound for musculoskeletal foot and ankle imaging priced under $10K.
Far more flexible and far sharper than the CTS-7700 it has replaced, the new CTS-8800 boasts a number of exciting improvements:
- An improved operating system with greater stability (so your system won't crash).
- A 160-gig hard drive (so you never run out of space for your images).
- The latest SRT "Speckle-Reduction" technology (so your images are sharper).

Available Probes for the CTS-8800 Orthopedic Ultrasound:
For the majority of Orthopedic work and ultrasound-guided injections, we recommend either #1 or #2 below. These are the linear 5 - 10 MHz probes. #1 is 50mm long, and #2 is 38mm long. Some doctors have a preference between the two, but most popular is the 50mm one. Down the road, you may elect to add either #3 or #4. These are the
convex, deeper-penetrating probes. As you can see, #3 is wider than #4. The main use of #3 is for looking at babies, so most orthopedic docs opt for #4 if they want a convex probe. And finally, #5 would be the smaller microconvex probe, mainly for small children (e.g., looking at their hands, fingers, toes).
