The Fully-Digital CTS-7700+ Podiatry Ultrasound

The CTS-7700+ Ultrasound from SIUI, equipped with the linear 5 - 10 MHz probe (central frequency 7.5 MHz), is our premiere portable black-and-white ultrasound for musculoskeletal foot and ankle imaging.

Far more flexible and far sharper than the rather low-end CTS-3300, the CTS-7700+ is nearly equivalent in image quality to the new fully-digital broadband CTS-5500+, but with a few differences:

The CTS-7700 has a Cineloop twice as long (512 frames vs. 256 frames)
The CTS-7700 has a slightly faster processor and operates on a Windows platform.
The CTS-7700 has an available 3D upgrade and DICOM 3.0 communications option.

Ultimately, for foot and ankle work either model will serve quite well, and in fact we generally recommend the CTS-5500 over the CTS-7700, because the image quality in musculoskeletal work is so close and the functionality near identical.

If you have the patient load for it, or if you are financing the system (where the difference in monthly payment is quite minimal), you might as well opt for the CTS-7700. It does have some advantages, particularly the longer cineloop. Ultimately you will be happy with either model, but with the profits you are going to be generating, the difference in price is almost negligible.
