Key Applications for the C300 Imatron (click links below for details) |
Coronary Calcium Scoring |
EBT has fast become the gold standard for quantification of coronary calcium through extensive peer-reviewed research.
Recent advances such as overlapping images and volumetric scoring techniques have been shown to markedly improve reproducibility.
The median volumetric variability for repeated EBT scans is now a mere 5.7%.

Coronary Angiography (EBA) |
Electron Beam Angiography: Non-invasive EBA utilizes an IV contrast, and requires less than a single breath-hold.
Multi-Phase EBA scanning sequentially captures multiple 100 ms images beginning at end systole. The result provides movie-like data sets which show different diastolic phases of the coronary artery lumen. The visual effect is similar to a cine angiogram.

Cardiac Function |
The EBT C300 scanner's new proprietary cardiac analysis software, and unmatched 50 ms scanning capability make non-invasive functional cardiac analyses a reality.
Functional Cardiac Applications:

Peripheral Angiography |
Using scan times as low as 100msecs, the C300 EBT scanner is able to acquire impressive high resolution images of the entire abdominal aortic vascular system, including the major visceral arteries.
Bolus timing scenarios benefit from the C300's rapid acquisition times - which approximate a conventional arteriogram.

Low Dose Lung |
Tomographic images of the lung help diagnosticians to detect small anomalies within the lung.
EBT can image the entire lung in 12 seconds using a high resolution thin-slice protocol.

Colonography |
Electron Beam Colonography: EB-Colonography protocols provide physicians with three-dimensional volumetric data.
Intuitive software creates smooth FlyView renderings of the interior of the colon. Traditional radiographic views are simultaneously supported.

Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis |
The C300 EBT scanner performs high resolution diagnostic imaging protocols for the radiologist, pulmonologist and gastroenterologist.
Because of thoracic motion, CAPS studies benefit from EBT's fast scan times. The above is visualized in three images taken during a 330 ms interval, much faster than traditional CT.
